Better call your grandma and check in on her, because Wheel of Fortune was very tense this week and people who still watch it are SIMPLY NOT OKAY. According to Entertainment Tonight, who first reported on this important news, there was some major tension during an episode that aired on January 26, involving “Ben from California” and the show’s host Pat Sajack.
Ben’s bonus round category was “Fun & Games”—which he didn’t exactly have a good shot at winning considering he only had a couple letters filled in. But nevertheless, he came up with “Taunt a Wacky Guy.” Which I think we can all agree is a hilarious guess that, while fun, is not an actual game.
Turns out the actual answer was “Taking a Quick Jog,” which is where the awkward vibes come in. Upon Pat saying “Wow, that was sooooooo unclose. You just didn’t have the letters,” Ben quipped “Well, see, I just don’t consider jogging fun and games.” He then gave a thumbs up, and truly the tension was real. Though whoever runs Wheel of Fortune’s social account (hero!) tried to make things better by posting the clip with the caption “He has a point 🤔😂”:
And naturally people are going off in the comments. A sampling for your viewing pleasure:
We’re gonna just ignore that the wheel of fortune insta agreed he has a point but isn’t making any effort to apologize or offer a public statement to rectify the situation?
The angry runners commenting like jogging isn’t torture
Some people do! He lost – move on! Geeza!!!!😡
Nobody considers that fun and games that’s fitness, come on
You know who doesn’t consider jogging to be fun? EVERYONE ELSE!
And some tweets!
Welp. This has been, as ever, a Wheel of Fortune update. As you were.
