Established in 1993, UNDERCOVER is among one of the most iconic fashion labels to ever come out of Japan. And over the course of three decades and countless seasons, founder/designer Jun Takahashi has produced no shortage of legendary offerings, such as the coveted SS03 “SCAB” collection. Many a motif — graphic and structural — has also followed Takahashi throughout his career, surfacing amidst both his mainline and collaborative works alike.
UNDERCOVER’s on-going collaborative relationship with Nike, for example, is rife with nods to many of the Japanese label’s most prolific themes. This continues to be the case with their next project, the Nike Moc Flow SP, whose otherwise understated construction and coloring is boldly stamped with UC’s signature “CHAOS AND BALANCE” mark. But unlike its appearance along prior collaborations, the latter text — which is boxed in bright red here — is somewhat obscured, partially hidden behind an opaque, Nike-branded heel tab. Another signature of the partnership, speckled midsoles, is also present, sitting parallel to a white leather upper largely devoid of any markings (besides the aforementioned, that is).
Finished with co-branded insoles, the UNDERCOVER x Nike Moc Flow SP was first revealed amongst the label’s Fall/Winter 22/23 collection. As such, a release is likely to arrive very soon; for now, sit tight for further updates.
In other news, the Air Jordan 2 Lucky Green releases tomorrow.
