Stranger Things’ highly-anticipated season four trailer shows Eleven going to war fighting supernatural foes

Eleven goes to war fighting supernatural enemies in the upcoming fourth season of Stranger Things.

A new trailer for the next installment of the Netflix sensation shows Eleven – played by Millie Bobby Brown – being asked to go to battle following a brief reprieve as a normal teenage girl.

Eleven, now sporting a head full of curly hair and flannel shirt, is later seen back with a shaved head and wearing a blood-stained hospital gown.

‘I relocated you guys far from Hawkins because I thought you’d be safe,’ a man tells Eleven. ‘A war is coming. I’m afraid your friends in Hawkins are very much in the eye of the storm.’

‘I don’t have my powers,’ Eleven said.

‘I don’t know how to say this other than just to say it,’ the man continues. ‘Without you, we can’t win this war.’

The full force of Eleven’s abilities are later shown as she flings a group of advancing men off her back, seemingly using the power of her mind.

Next, Jim Hopper (David Harbour) is seen imprisoned in Russia wearing a bloodied shirt with his hands placed behind his back.

As men place a mask over his face, Hopper is heard saying, ‘I was convinced I was put here for some other reason. Maybe I can still help, even if it’s the last thing I do.’

Hopper is seen standing in a snowy prison courtyard, wielding a weapon, before a mysterious creature leaps into the room.

'Everything's been a total disaster': The trailer also shows Max Mayfield (Sadie Sink) visiting her brother Billy Hargrove's grave and recounting all that had transpired since his death

The trailer also shows Max Mayfield (Sadie Sink) visiting her brother Billy Hargrove’s grave and recounting all that had transpired since his death.

As Max speaks to Billy, fans catch a glimpse of how their favorites had been attempting to move on and live a normal life.

‘Dear Billy, I don’t know if you can even hear this,’ Max says. ‘Ever since you left, everything’s been a total disaster.

‘For a while, we tried to be happy. Normal. But it’s impossible.’

‘It’s been six months since the Battle of Starcourt, which brought terror and destruction to Hawkins,’ reads an official description of the next season according to The Hollywood Reporter. ‘Struggling with the aftermath, our group of friends are separated for the first time — and navigating the complexities of high school hasn’t made things any easier. 

‘In this most vulnerable time, a new and horrifying supernatural threat surfaces, presenting a gruesome mystery that, if solved, might finally put an end to the horrors of the Upside Down.’ 

Season four of Stranger Things will premiere on Netflix on May 27.
