I’d say that it was underwhelming, which in my opinion is actually worse than awful. Awful is something like the first Suicide Squad movie, where it’s just bizarre and ridiculous, but produced some things of note, like Margot Robbie’s Harley Quinn. Underwhelming is what you get when something could and should have been better, but just fell flat for various reasons. It’s when you can’t really point towards much or anything that stood out about the film, as everything just felt “meh” and forgettable. Say what you want about SS1, but we all easily remember it years later. WW84 has already generally faded from memory, a much worse fate for what was expected to be a blockbuster film.
