Over at CorporetteMoms today, Ann is swooning over the fall colors from Essie — and I agree they’re really fun! Her favorite shade is a dark brownish red, which kind of got me nostalgic for Chanel’s Vamp — it all seems in-keeping with the resurgence of late 90s/early aughts fashion, right?
Apparently Chanel changed the formulation slightly in the late 90s to one with more shimmer and red (and less black), and that version, Rouge Noir, has been sold for years. (Here’s a beauty blogger’s post from 2013 on the topic.)
If you want the lower cost version, you can find the newer Essie collection at Ulta — or Nordstrom and others have the Chanel polish for $30. (Huh – Ulta has Vamp as a purchase option, although it’s sold out right now. Maybe Vamp is still around… Also still around: the OPI shade that everyone swore was a dupe for Vamp back in the day.)
