Claudia Winkleman admits she spends time off from Strictly following her three kids around

Claudia Winkleman has revealed she spends her time off from TV being ‘a very annoying human being’ to her three kids.

The TV presenter, 50, hilariously confessed her children beg her to give them some space during the 10 months of the year when she’s not busy presenting Strictly Come Dancing.

Speaking exclusively to MailOnline at the No7 Pro Derm Scan launch party on Tuesday night, she blamed the ‘awful’ habit on her former newspaper editor mum Eve Pollard, 76.

She began: ‘I get on the tube all the time but I’ve never been recognised in my life, never in my life. I’m on there four times a day with my kids…’

‘I’m on telly sometimes but only for two months in the year and the rest of the time, I zip around. For the rest of the year, I lick the children.

‘I follow them around and I’m a very annoying human being to them. They say, “Mum give us some space,” and I say “no”. I’m awful. It comes from my own mum.’

When quizzed about how she manages to go incognito, she replied: ‘I don’t even wear sunglasses, I’m not a lunatic. Oh my… stop! I have no status. Are you mad?’

The radio DJ and her pal Tess Daly have partnered with No7 to launch the brand’s Pro Derm Scan, which went live in Boots stores on Wednesday.

The free diagnostic service, which uses a handheld device to analyse skin condition and tone combined with the expert advice of the No7 Beauty Advisors, will give customers personalised, accessible skincare and cosmetic recommendations.

Claudia admitted: ‘I’ve got no idea about my skin! I had a facial once, only because my friend told me to but I was confused by it. They were tickling my cheeks… never again. I get excited about toothpaste really and don’t even go to the gym.

‘However, No7’s got a gadget, have you had it done? You’ve got to! It’s free and it’s in all of Boots and anybody can go in and they did it to me.

‘And I said, “I don’t want lots of products, I’m really lazy, I’m 50, I’m always asleep.” Anyway, they gave me a cleanser, which is amazing, and just one cream.

‘They said, “You don’t need anything else.” The cleanser gets rid of all of your make-up. What it basically does is tell you what you need and then give it to you.’

Claudia previously revealed she threatened to leave Strictly Come Dancing so that she could be with her son Jake on his first day of university.

Appearing on BBC’s Women’s Hour recently, the star admitted there were ‘plenty of tears’ during her ultimatum phone call with the show’s boss, Sarah James.

Fearing the first date of the previous season would clash with her son’s big day, she recalled: ‘I phoned the boss of Strictly quite dramatically and said, through tears, “Sarah I love you.

‘”I don’t want to leave Strictly and Tess [Daly] and I have agreed we will leave together when they’re done with us, but if the first show is September 13, I’m out and you’ll have to go with somebody else.

‘And there was a beat. And she said, “Quite dramatic. We don’t start that week.”

‘I was like, “Alright, I have to go and put up his posters.” It’s not that I love him more than others love their kids, but this is something parents have to go through.’
