This month, we join Luke and Binns to take a look at two special projects we’re very excited to finally announce; our exclusive ‘Seaside Series’ with adidas Originals, and the latest instalment of our re-size? series – the adidas Spezial NG SPZL Garwen.
adidas Originals ‘Seaside Series’ – ?exclusive
Starting off, we can finally introduce you to our adidas Originals ‘Seaside Series’ – ?exclusive. The series is inspired by the ‘Island Series’ which we revisited in 2020 – only this time, those exotic locations have been switched out for shores a little closer to home. Introducing, the ‘Blackpool’, ‘Brighton’ and ‘Cleethorpes’. This trio of adidas Originals BC Trainer ‘Seaside Series’ – ?exclusives is an absolute celebration of each seaside town, with plenty of design cues directly related to some of the UK’s most loved coastal locations.
Each is inspired by an iconic building belonging to each place – Blackpool’s Blackpool Tower, Brighton’s Pavillion, and Cleethorpes’ Marklews Fisheries chip shop. All three silhouettes are a true tribute to these seaside towns, featuring the beginning of each postcode on the inside of the tongue, and with the lace tips representing each area’s football team. Not only that, we also teamed with Grimsby’s Docks Beers to create a special edition beer for each shoe. It just doesn’t get better.
adidas Spezial NG SPZL Garwen – re-size?
We can also finally lift the lid on the next addition to re-size? – the adidas Spezial NG SPZL Garwen. But not just any Garwen. This one has been signed by the man himself – Noel Gallagher. A collaborative effort between adidas Originals and the iconic Oasis member, this shoe is teaming with terrace heritage, inspired by Noel’s adidas Brisbanes and sporting a cleaner look without 3-Stripe branding. This leather pair is equipped with tonal stitching and a rich navy palette, with a Noel Gallagher print on the tongue for an extra nod to this music legend.
